Courtney's Review:

Let me start by saying that this story is well written with lots of significant details that make it impossible to put down. In this book four strangers end up meeting this one girl named Leila and each of them go on a separate adventure with her,some are great and some are bad. At the end of the day Lelia ends up helping each person she meets. Lelia seems to be special in that she helps each person figure something out that they didn’t know before they went on their adventure with her.  

This author made it really easy to understand what was going on in the story and did not use over complicated words. I like that this author made it perfectly easy to picture everything that was going on as if it were a movie. I thought it was pretty cool that the author mentioned some of my favorite movies like The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Pretty in Pink.  I really recommend this book for young readers because it has its own special thing about it that is irresistible.

 There is something in this book that I didn’t quite see why it ended up the way it did. Maybe it is just the way the author wrote it that I didn’t understand. Regardless of this event it is a great book and that it should be read.

Viviana's Review: 

Perfection.  I’m serious!  There was the awesome mix of drama, great characters, humor, and story.  I loved Kat and her overall way of being.  Her personality is one that I would gravitate to. Would totally be friends with Kat! 

I already loved Dannika’s style of writing and her way of developing not only the story but the characters themselves.  This just cements it!

This book can be read as a standalone though the hero was originally introduced in the Seven Series.  I always enjoy the character of Prince and while some may say he needed to be “redeemed” I thought there had to be a reason and/or that because we were seeing the story from everyone else’s perspective, we were getting their thoughts and view of what they thought of Prince vs. the “man” himself.  In reading “Charming” this is proven true.  Also that there is always more to someone than what people believe or what at times people themselves wish to have others believe.

Overall, a great addition to this series! As with all great stories, you wanted more yet felt satisfied with the story you were told! 

Narrator Review: Nicole rocks it!  Easily Nicole has become one of my favorite narrators.  She does a fantastic job with Dannika’s stories.  Match made in heaven.

Nina's Review:

Here is what I LOVE the most about Dannika’s writing: her ability to make every character’s story count in a big way. This book kept me engaged the whole time and left me thoroughly satisfied. In this story, I went in expecting to get a redemption for Prince, and redeemed he was! It felt though, like the story focused more on the twins then on Prince, and that was a great treat in my opinion, because it transported me in to the story to see him - not only through my eyes, but also through the eyes of such a charismatic character.

Katarina is bold, giving, tough, and unapologetically genuine. She is sentimental and her heart is fierce when it comes to protecting the ones she loves. Her twin Nadia though, gives much import to the opinion of others. She portrays an image of class and strength, and although she wants to appear in control she fights hard to remain unforgiving and protect her heart. They are polar opposites and sometimes enrage one another, but no matter what they are united by an unbreakable bond. At the end of the previous novel (Two Minutes), I was so disappointed in Prince. Albeit for just a hot minute. I thought of him as an opportunistic prick at first, but after I digested the story I came to give him the benefit of the doubt. I have to force myself to remember that sometimes there is more to what we see in the surface.

All in all, I loved how Dannika developed Prince’s story to show where he was coming from. Even if many don’t agree with his way of being it’s hard not to respect it knowing his background. It was good to see him be stricken by true love and realize that no matter how much we try to control or rationally think that we know what we want, when love hits you, it gives you a choice to surrender and feel uniquely dazzled or just defy it and miss your chance to be truly happy. Dannika did right by Prince, the twins, and by her readers. I thought the story started, developed, and ended perfectly.

This last book in the Hitman series is quite an adventure.  Ava, the female protagonist, is forced to work for some very bad people who have kidnapped her best friend Rose.  These evil people are threatening to kill Rose if Ava does not follow their every command, and Ava will do anything it takes to save her friend’s life.

Ava’s every move is being watched by Rose’s kidnappers, but she is also being surveilled by mercenaries who are former U.S. Army soldiers.  Their leader Rafael “Rafe” Mendoza is instantly smitten by Ava.  Mendoza and his mercenaries are trying to get their hands on the same information that Ava is being forced to try to sell to the highest bidders all around the world.

Mendoza is a severely broken man being the product of the rape of his mother among other issues, and his troubles only multiply (in his eyes) when he has to achieve his goal of obtaining his information and keep safe the woman whose beauty and allure make thinking clearly impossible, much less achieving a very dangerous goal.  Mendoza, while quickly falling in love with Ava, struggles to keep her at arm’s length most of the book.  Rafe Mendoza feels his dark secret makes him unworthy of such a beautiful woman and a threat to her very life at the same time.

It is said that love conquers all things, and once Mendoza saves Ana she shows him just how true this statement is.  Ava helps Rafe fight and destroy his inner demons, and while they lived through some harrowing experiences they each lose their best friend in the process.

The action is awesome in this book; you can’t put it down.  The sex scenes are amazing and plentiful, and you are spared no detail.  Most of the characters are instantly liked - for me, all but Rose (Ava’s kidnapped best friend) as she is portrayed as naive to the point of “you’ve got to be kidding me, right?”

Speaking of characters, Mendoza is the not-so-proud owner of a twelve (yes, twelve) inch penis; he had a very bad experience trying to have sex with a girlfriend 35 years ago when she bled profusely and died two days later.  To make matters worse, the girl’s brothers told Rafe she died because he tried to have sex with her and they beat him within an inch of his life and mutilated his groin.  Add this to the fact that Rafe has been told by his mother since birth that he is evil and his huge penis is proof of it, and well…  Rafe truly believes he is cursed and kills anyone he loves.
Ava is so awed by the size of his penis that she calls it “Godzilla”.  Now, as a man reading this book I can’t help but think the odds of having a penis that big are very low, but it could happen.  Good for him I say.  Must be rough.  We regular, normal, mere mortals deal with slightly less.  And it’s funny, too - you would think he would be so happy to be so endowed, just as many think tall people (like me) must be so happy to be so tall.  Not the case.

I really enjoyed this book, and I hope there will be more to come.  I think it is so cool the way things ended up.

Paul's Review:
It is great when a book takes you for a ride and does not let you go, and it is also wonderful when a book opens your mind for you and you feel like a better person for it.  Last Kiss: A Hitman Novel  by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick is such a novel.  We all grow up with a certain set of preconceptions, biases, and prejudices - the trick is to not perpetuate them, learn about those things you have preconceptions and/or prejudices about, and grow as a human being.

When I was first introduced to Naomi, Daniel’s autistic (Asperger’s, more specifically) sister whom was kidnapped by the Bratva (Russian mob) for her hacking and computer abilities, I immediately thought of Velma from the cartoon Scooby-Doo but with a set of mental and social disabilities.  As this is the love story of the head of the Bratva and Naomi I could not help but feel at first that Vasily (the to-be Russian mob boss) was taking advantage of someone he had no business taking advantage of.  After a very short time I realized that Naomi was a remarkably normal woman with the exceptions of a few quirks like genius, inability to look people in the eyes, inability to handle loud noises or extreme stress, and the propensity to only eat foods of specific colors and wear a certain baseball cap.  I also realized that Vasily was not taking advantage of anyone, that he could be a dangerous man to his enemies,  but that he was an honorable man (because of Naomi) and that he and Naomi were falling in love.

The authors write searing sex scenes, and the action and suspense is awesome.  I like to root for underdogs, and that is what this book makes you do for Vasily through his struggles to become the head of the Bratva and win the love of his Naomi.  This book was enthralling, and I look forward to many more from the team of Clare and Frederick!  I give this book a perfect score!

Paul's Review: 

At first I did not think I was going to like Last Breath: A Hitman Novel by Jessica Clare and Jen Frederick; I had just recently read Last Hit: A Hitman Novel (by the same authors), and I wanted to read more about Nick and Daisy!  I liked their characters, and at first I felt let down that I would not be reading about them again (or so I thought).  Last Breath is the story of Daisy’s roommate and friend Regan and the hitman and mercenary Daniel who is sent by Nick to rescue Regan from the brothel she has been sold to in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  As a man, it was terrible for me to read about the rape of a woman in general, much less that Regan was sold to a brothel and was being raped constantly.  I felt for Regan, and I instantly wanted her to have justice and gain her freedom.  This is where Nick’s colleague Daniel comes into the picture, and we learn that he has been searching the globe for the last year and a half for his own kidnapped autistic sister and has been sent by Nick to liberate Regan from the brothel and bring her back.  I was introduced to Daniel in the first book (Last Hit), but I did not like him all that much, probably because it seemed like he was gunning for Nick and that I really did not know that much about him.  However, the authors Clare and Frederick more than make up for that in this book, and I came to really like Daniel.  Daniel is someone I could relate to on more than a few levels.  One example is that Daniel is from Texas and likes Shiner Bock (a type of beer); my own family lives in Texas and has been known to enjoy a beer or two and always raves about Shiner Bock.  I thought it was great that the authors included something about Texas that I have actually experienced in Texas with my family.   I really appreciate it when an author (or in this case authors) does (do) the research and use(s) actual information.

Both Daniel and Regan are quite messed up psychologically speaking for their own respective reasons - Regan for all her traumas in the brothel and Daniel for having seen and done so much in his years as a hitman and mercenary.  It was cool to see how their relationship went from co-dependence (on Regan’s part) to mutual need to deep mutual love.  This book has really hot, frequent sex scenes - which are very well described - as well as very cool action and suspense.  This book had me rooting for the good guys and even some bad guys (because they were in Daniel’s corner).  I, myself, enjoy happy, but good endings, and this book does not disappoint.  I have no complaints about this book and would recommend it to anyone whom I thought would enjoy it.  I give this book a perfect score!  I cannot wait to read the third novel Last Kiss: A Hitman Novel!

Candie's Review: 

This book was short and sweet! At just over a hundred pages, you instantly fall in love with Cameron O’Leary.  The responsibility and care that he shows his daughter Janie is enough to make anyone melt. I enjoyed Erin’s character and thought that she was fun and quirky. My only complaint is that the book ended too soon! I wanted more of Cameron and Erin’s story. This is a must read for standalone book lovers.
