Book Review: Her Halloween Treat by Tiffany Reisz

Her Halloween Treat
(Men at Work Series #1)
by Tiffany Reisz

Blurb:
Trick…or wicked treat!

It was a devastating dirty trick—Joey Silvia just found out her boyfriend of two years is married. What. A. Dick. Joey knows her best chance to get over one guy is to get under another. Of course, heading home to her family's remote cabin in Oregon poses some challenges in the "available men" department…until she discovers this cabin comes with its own hot handyman!

Holy crap, Chris Steffensen. When did her brother's best friend turn into a hard-bodied pile of blond-bearded hotness? He's the perfect Halloween treat—and a surprisingly dirty rebound guy. For a couple of weeks, anyway. Except that Chris has other ideas…like proving to Joey that this blast from the past is a whole lot more than a naughty Halloween hookup.

Viviana's Review:
HOLY HOTNESS!! Tiffany doesn't disappoint! Do not be fulled by the "Harlequin" title. Though Blaze is their "steamier" publishing line, this one is SMOLDERING!

The cover.... did you notice the man, in the flannel with the beard.... Yeah that's Chris! LOVE that the cover matches the character's description! And totally YUM!!

There is lots of quick wit conversation between all the characters. It's not over the top at all. Each of the characters' personality shows through in the different conversations between them. Kara is Joey's BFF and I laughed out loud during several of their conversations. She's the type of friend you need to have! She will tell you exactly how things truly are and what you need to hear.

While there is lots of 'sexy time', as with all Tiffany Reisz's books, there is more to the story then just the sex. Joey is realizing there is more to Chris than what she knew and remembered from when they were in high school. Though Chris had a crush on Joey since they were in high school, the years have proven that there's more to them than what they think there is.

Overall, this is a quick read that is steamy, sensual and makes you want to take a trip to Oregon and find a handyman!

Rating: 4.5 Stars - Really LOVE It!!

Audio Book Review: The Virgin by Tiffany Reisz

The Virgin
(The Original Sinners: White Years Series, Bk #3)
by Tiffany Reisz

Blurb:
The controversial story before the story continues in the critically acclaimed and award-winning series The Original Sinners.

For years, Kingsley Edge warned Eleanor the day would come when she, the mistress of a well-respected Catholic priest, would have to run and hide. She always imagined if that day came she'd be running away with Søren. But instead, she's running from him.

Knowing Søren and Kingsley will their use their influence to bring her back, Eleanor alone, penniless and scared takes refuge at the one place the men in her life cannot follow: the abbey where her mother has taken orders. Behind the cloistered gates of the convent, Eleanor hides from the man she loves and hates in equal measure

She cannot, however, hide from her true nature. When Eleanor befriends a young virginal nun, she faces a startling sexual awakening. But Eleanor can't stay forever, and the lure of her real life beckons beyond the locked gates. But to follow her fate means to leave Kyrie behind, a sacrifice Eleanor refuses to make

The lure of the forbidden. The temptation to sin. The price of passion has never been higher, and Eleanor will have to pay it if she ever wants to go home again.

Viviana's Review:

I love Tiffany Reisz's writing style. She is truly a gifted writer and story teller! She knows how to keep her readers not only wanting more but at the edge of their seats. There are two "edge of their seats" points of this story: the wedding and why did Eleanor leave Søren. The entire time I'm reading I was like "Alright already. Why the fuck did she leave?" I must take a step back because I said 'reading'. See, I began this book reading as I was provided the ARC and but life gets in the way and busy. However, I have to also admit that the pace was a tad bit slower with this installment at the beginning of the book than in the previous installments which for me didn't have me devouring it at first. With that said, once I plugged in, the narrator taking over, everything was perfectly placed.

Book Review: Captivated by Megan Hart & Tiffany Reisz

Captivated

Blurb:
Double the passion and seduction as New York Times bestselling author Megan Hart and international bestselling author Tiffany Reisz weave two provocative tales about power, bad-boy lovers and secret desires!

LETTING GO by Megan Hart

Until one night when she lets go and lets him in. And after that, Jesse has only one mission--to show her one night is only the beginning.

SEIZE THE NIGHT by Tiffany Reisz
Four years ago, a night of forbidden passion between Remi and Julien, the heirs of two powerful and competitive horse-racing families, led to a feud that is threatening to ruin both farms. Viviana's Review:
 LETTING GO by Megan Hart
This is the first time I read anything by Megan Hart but it won't be the last time. I enjoyed her writing style! This was a story about a woman who is recently divorced from controlling man. She goes to the same bar every day but doesn't drink in an effort to show and convince herself she is in control. Turns out the bartender, Jesse, is a hottie and he pays attention. He's also attracted to her. At first he tries to be friend her and she hesitates. However, I'm sure you'd figure it out that THAT doesn't last long. The attraction is mutual and while she is concerned about the age difference, he's younger than she, she is also concerned about a few other things.

There were a few times where I wanted to grab Colleen by the shoulders and shake her to help her realize a good thing while it's in front of her. It felt like the author was perhaps trying too hard to make the "obstacles" a tad bit bigger than they really were and it was obvious to the reader. This didn't make me like Colleen very much. Jesse is a sweetheart who just wanted to be with Colleen and tried his hardest to understand where she was coming from. I am glad things worked out in the end, but again, felt that there was more obstacles/issues being created than necessary.

SEIZE THE NIGHT by Tiffany Reisz
I couldn't wait to read this! Love Tiffany Reisz! Her style of writing. Her stories! Just Love. This was a Romeo and Juliet with a twist. In this case Remi, she is the "older woman" by four years and Julien is the younger man who knows exactly what he wants. And he wants Remi! However, they are from from rival horse racing families in Kentucky and they originally met at a party four years ago where they hit it off and they didn't know who the other one was at the time. It was an instant connection. They spent hours talking and getting to know each other. With the instant connection came the attraction they felt for each other. So when then 22 year old Remi is caught semi naked with then 17 year old Julien.. yeah not so good! It was a misunderstanding but the feuding families used this to further their cause!

Fast forward and we have Remi, working for her family and subconsciously looking for Julien at all the events. Unfortunately, he's no where to be found. When she learns that there is something a mist with the family businesses she seeks Julien out for help. When the two of them reconnect the sparks reignite and the story goes on from there!

Oh and Merrick! Merrick is Remi assistant! He is sarcastic, funny, sexy and while he won't say it, very sweet. OH he so needs his own story. I hope one day, Tiffany decides to write SOMETHING, with him. Just need more of him! He brought more umph to an already awesome story!

While not as "HOT" compared to the sex scenes from Tiffany's other stories, I think everything works great together for THIS story!

 LETTING GO by Megan Hart
Rating: 3 Stars - I liked it

SEIZE THE NIGHT by Tiffany Reisz
Rating: 4.5 Stars - I REALLY LOVED IT

Candie's Review:

I really enjoyed this book from Kelly Hunter.  I love stories that have strong emotion and intensity and “The One That Got Away” has a lot of both. I read this book on my flight home from Las Vegas and was so engrossed that I got a stern look and finger wagging from the stewardess when it was way past time to turn off my electronic device for landing.  Whoops!

Blog Tour: Kissed By A Vampire by Caridad Piñiero

Thank you so much Caridad for stopping by and visiting with us today! I’m excited and honored! I was introduced to your work via the “Sin Hunters” series which is fantastic! So of course, I was going to get your latest release “Kiss of a Vampire”.

Viviana: Can you tell readers a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to write in this particular genre?

Caridad: I’m actually surprised that I ended up writing paranormals since as a kid, I was always afraid of horror movies and things that went bump in the night.  Even now I’m still afraid of the dark in certain situations.  So why did I go to the dark side?  I had been writing contemporary romances and wanted to write something very different that had suspense in it.  I figured, why not try something with a vampire and THE CALLING/REBORN series was born.
