Excerpt

She pulled the cell door open. Metal groaned. And his chest pinched when he realized that was it. She was leaving. After not punishing him like he’d expected, but pleasuring him.

“Why?”

It was the only word he could get out. His throat was thick, his brain still foggy, but none of this—none of what she’d done last night when she’d tended his wound or tonight when she’d brought him to a blistering climax—made sense.

She hesitated, one hand on the door handle, one step to freedom. Then she turned her head back into the room, just enough so he could see the supple line of her jaw and the plump perfection of her lips, but she didn't meet his eyes. And like it had before, that feeling she was as much a prisoner as was he, slammed into him.

Which would be worse? To be tortured? Or to be forced to torture others and live with the knowledge of what you've done day after day after miserable day?

“Because I’m not the monster Zagreus is,” she whispered. “Not yet, anyway.”

Book Review: "Bound" by Elisabeth Naughton

Bound
(Eternal Guardians, Bk #6)
By Elisabeth Naughton

Synopsis:

TITUS—To most his gift seems like a blessing, but for him it’s a curse the other Eternal Guardians—those who protect the mortal realm from threats of the Underworld—seek to exploit. One he would gladly trade for the chance to be free…

Obsessed. Her touch is like a drug. From the moment he met her, Titus knew she was different. Even dangerous. Yet though his guardian brethren are convinced Natasa is working for Hades, Titus can’t stop thinking about her. Can’t stop fantasizing about her. Can’t stop craving the one thing he knows could lead to the downfall of his world.

Possessed. Faced with stopping Natasa or joining in her quest, Titus falls to temptation and is thrust into a world of lust, deception, and deadly treachery designed by the gods. Her touch—only hers—frees him from his bonds, but desire may just condemn him. Because before the end he’ll have to decide which is more important: duty and honor to those he took an oath to defend, or a woman who could very well be the biggest curse to them all.

Viviana's Review:
A perfect mixture of action, romance, Greek Mythology, mystery and steaminess! I had missed the world of the Eternal Guardians! The series is like comfort food! You know its going to be great and you love it! I also love that everyone from the previous books all make an appearance, well, not so much as an appearance but rather they are part of the story!

Blog Tour: For the Love of Hades by Sasha Summers

Visual Inspiration – For the Love of Hades - Characters
I’m a visual person. I’m also a movie addict. Combine the two and a lot of my characters are ‘played’ my actors and actresses. It helps me visualize them when I write, create ticks, hear their voice – that kind of thing. I know lots of people who use models, but that’s not enough for me. I need to get a sense of space and movement… Sound weird? Maybe it does – but, for me, it works.

Available for purchase at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Ellora's Cave and All Romance

Viviana's Review:
I’ve read Shona’s Shadowland series which I really like, so I was excited to have received a copy of “Saved by the Trickster” to review.  “Saved by the Trickster” is published by Ellora’s Cave (Erotica Publisher) and falls within their “Romantica” Imprint & “Twilight” Line. Books within the “Romantica” are a “special blend of erotic romance, featuring a central love story, a happy ending and lots of hot sex described in graphic detail, using the kind of language regular people use, rather than flowery euphemisms.”  “Twilight” is their “Vamps, ghosts, shifters and other paranormal lovers” line.

Book Review: Only in Her Dreams (The Oneiroi, bk #1) By Christina McKnight

Only in Her Dream
(The Oneiroi Series, book #1)
By Christina McKnight

Synopsis:
When Lucessa Sarcona awakes from a recurring dream, she has no idea her life is about to be turned upside down. A stranger, familiar to her dreams, shows up in the flesh, and Lucessa knows she’s either crazy or experiencing something not of this world.

And one is charged with the impossible task of protecting Lucessa. How is she linked to the Oneiroi? Why do two brothers seek to keep her hidden and protected? And how does another plan to use her against the two demigods who love her?

Will Lucessa’s dream man have the courage to claim her as his own or will he bow to the command of another, forsaking the one he loves?

Available for purchase at Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Viviana's Review:
I liked it. The story was well written and each of the characters had their assigned roles. I kept hoping to learn more about the Erebos world and how Guy, Darious and Maxim all truly fit into that world as well as what major part does Lucessa play. Though Hera and Zeus make an appearance as well as Hades presence is assumed (he’s never identified by name), that is the extent of the Greek Mythology. I was hoping for more. The world building wasn't one that I was wowed by. This story could easily fit into any genre, even a suspense romance as there wasn't a whole lot of paranormal involved. I think ‘wanting more” is going to be a recurring theme in my review of “Only in Her Dreams”.

Book Review: "Enslaved" by Elisabeth Naughton

Enslaved
(The Eternal Guardian Series, Bk # 5)
By Elisabeth Naughton

Synopsis:

GRYPHON—Honorable, loyal, dependable…tainted. He was the ultimate warrior before imprisonment in the Underworld changed him in ways he can’t ignore.

She calls to him. Come to me. You can’t resist. But Gryphon will not allow himself to be ruled by the insidious whispers in his head. And there’s only one way to stop them: kill Atalanta, the goddess who enslaved him. But with so much darkness inside, he can’t be sure what’s real anymore. Even the Eternal Guardians, those who protect the human realm from threats of the Underworld, want to exile him. They’re not sure he can be trusted.

Finding Malea is like a miracle. Somehow he doesn't feel the pull of the dark when she’s near. And he’s determined to keep her as near as possible, whether she wants him close or not. But proximity spurs temptation. A temptation that will test every last bit of control he has left. One that may ultimately have the power to send him back to the Underworld or free him from his chains for good.

Available for purchase at Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Viviana's Review:
Elisabeth Naughton has done it again!! “Enslaved” is filled with action from the very beginning. The story picks up about two months after “Enraptured” and we quickly learn that Gryphon is still struggling with his inner demons.

But with eternity stretching before him, he also can’t fathom spending his life without the one woman who makes him feel most alive. Perhaps he’s found his weakness, after all…

Available for purchase at  AmazonBarnes & Noble and Smashwords

Viviana's Review:
Absolutely LOVED it!! Couldn't put it down!! The characters are excellently written! The males are strong alphas yet have a sensitivity to them that is brought on only by the Love for their mate! The women are strong and confident! Which is a breathe of fresh air considering that they are usually written as the weaker sex. The plot is brilliantly executed with highs and lows (dialogue & action). I was extremely thankful that she didn't "retell" book 1 as this is a series and some authors tend to feel that they need remind the reader what happened in the previous book.
