Book Review: Crave The Night (Midnight Breed #12) by Lara Adrian

Crave The Night
(Midnight Breed #12)
By Lara Adrian

Blurb:
Born and raised to be an emotionless killing machine, Nathan is one of the most lethal Breed vampires in existence. A key member of the Order—an elite group of warriors charged with protecting both mortals and vampires—Nathan executes each mission with flawless precision and a total lack of mercy. Now he must pursue a powerful, hidden enemy. But Nathan’s hard discipline and training are no match for the fierce pull he feels toward a young woman he has no right to desire—a woman of wealth and high social standing who has long been promised to another Breed male, and who may also prove to be the key to rooting out Nathan’s elusive quarry.

Jordana lives a life of glittering privilege as a member of a prominent Breed family in Boston. Surrounded by fine things and fawning admirers, Jordana wants for nothing—until she crosses paths with a dark, intense warrior from the Order and finds herself swept into an impulsive, sizzling kiss that neither of them will forget. As much as she tries to deny her deep feelings for Nathan, Jordana cannot resist the craving to be near him, to break through his forbidding walls and see the man he truly is. But getting close to Nathan will thrust Jordana into a treacherous new world, forcing her to risk all she has and all she knows about herself and her past. And loving this seductive man could be the most dangerous temptation of all.

Viviana's Review:

I have been intrigued by Nathan from the very beginning. You want to see how he overcomes his past and how he handles the interaction between his family and The Order. CRAVE THE NIGHT picks up where EDGE OF DOWN (Midnight Breed #11) left off. We know that there is definitely some chemistry between Jordana and Nathan and I was curious to see how it would all play out. I was not disappointed!! Woohoo!

Lara Adrian does a fantastic job of drawing the reader into the world she has created, making you care about the characters and leaves you wanting more! This was an excellent read and I can't wait until the next installment!

Rating: 4 Stars - Loved It

Book Review: Edge of Dawn (Midnight Breed #11) by Lara Adrian

Edge of Dawn
(Midnight Breed #11)
By Lara Adrian

Narrator: Hillary Huber

Blurb:
Twenty years after the terror of First Dawn—when mankind learned that vampires lived secretly among them—the threat of violence reigns as the two species struggle to coexist. The only group preserving the fragile harmony is the Order, an elite cadre of Breed warriors dedicated to protecting humans and vampires alike. And in this precarious world of torn loyalties and shattered trust, Mira, a fiery squad captain, finds that every fight bears an intensely personal cost.

Raised among the Order, Mira has always believed in the warrior’s code of swift—and even lethal—justice. But the one thing she desires more than the Order’s hard-won acceptance is Kellan Archer, a sexy but troubled Breed fighter. In love with him since childhood, Mira once broke through his tough exterior during an unexpected night of rapture, but the next day he mysteriously disappeared, never to return.

Kellan didn't think he would ever see Mira again—or have to confront the truth of why he left. After abandoning the Order years ago, he now leads a band of human rebels intent on carrying out their own vigilante rule of law. Yet a high-profile kidnapping assignment brings him face-to-face with the past he sought to avoid, and the striking woman he has tried desperately to forget. And as tensions mount and the risk of bloodshed grows, Kellan and Mira must take sides—between the competing missions that dominate their lives, and the electrifying passion that claims their hearts.

Viviana's Review:
I'd been itching to get my hands on this book since it was first announced. "Edge of Dawn" jumps 20 years into the future from the events of Darker After Midnight (Midnight Breed, #10), now known as "First Dawn". The world knows vampires exists and humans and the Breed have been fighting many wars during those 20 years. Due to this jump of 20 years, "Edge of Dawn" can be read as a stand alone or even as the start of a new series, technically. However, why would you want to. The Midnight Breed series is truly a great series.

Viviana's Review:
I was so excited when I first found out Lara Adrian was release a companion book for her Midnight Breed series. I LOVE the series and devoured all 11 book. Book Review: A Touch of Midnight (Midnight Breed 0.5) by Lara Adrian

A Touch of Midnight
(The Midnight Breed Series, #0.5)
By Lara Adrian

Blurb:
Savannah Dupree is halfway across the country from her Louisiana bayou hometown, a freshman studying at Boston University on a full scholarship. But academic excellence is only one of Savannah’s gifts. She possesses something even more remarkable than her quick mind and insatiable curiosity for learning. With a simple touch, Savannah can see an object’s past—a skill that puts her life in danger, when her studies bring her into contact with a centuries-old English sword and the secret hidden within the blade’s history: the vicious murders of twin boys by a group of fanged creatures borne of the worst kind of nightmare.

In all his three hundred years of living as one of the Breed, vampire warrior Gideon never dreamed he’d see the blade again that spilled his young brothers’ lives ages ago on that blood-soaked night in London. Ever since the boys’ deaths, Gideon’s been on a personal quest to rid the world of Rogue vampires, but now he can’t help wondering if the brutal slayings of his only kin was something more sinister—an act perpetrated by an unknown enemy. An enemy who is apparently living in hiding somewhere in Boston. There’s one certain way to prove Gideon’s suspicion, but it will mean using innocent, gifted Savannah to help uncover the full truth—a truth that will shatter everything she knows about herself and the world around her. And with danger closing in from all sides, the passion that ignites between Gideon and Savannah will tempt them to risk their hearts and lives for a love that might just last an eternity…

This novella, a prequel to the Midnight Breed series, was previously published in its entirety in The Midnight Breed Series Companion (May 2013)

Viviana's Review:
Loved, loved, loved it! Gideon has been one of my favorites (okay, they are all my favorites, but each has a unique reason for them being my favorite!) and I've always LOVED that he is quick witted and tech savvy! Add the sarcasm and man, swoon! He's been in every book in the series and yet, there were many aspect of his life/story we knew nothing about. We do know how much in love he is with his Breed Mate Savannah and how Savannah is the heart of the Order's home. They truly are the cutest couple. However, because they have been together since the beginning of the series, we never have had the opportunity to learn their story. As any fan of any series, when something like this occurs, we tend to ask the author "so uhm.... will we ever get the chance to see how they got together?" I came to this series later in the game when most of the books had already been released, oh, that's right, book ten "Darker After Midnight" was yet to be released. I was desperately trying to catch up on finishing the series until that book. I'm happy to say, my timing was AWESOME!! Anyways, I had noticed that fans were asking about Gideon's and Savannah's story and I was curious as well. They are just again so cute and happy, but I wanted to see how they got there.
