Book Review: Dark Alpha’s Demand by Donna Grant

Dark Alpha’s Demand
(Reaper Series, #3)
by Donna Grant

Blurb:

There is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I am coming for you…

My secret is an ancient one. I exist to exact vengeance on the Fae for their wrongs per Death’s orders. When I’m sent to one of the most treacherous, deceitful places on any realm – the court of the Light Queen – as a spy, things awry. Neve captured my soul with just a look from her seductive gaze. She is who I want, who I crave…who I hunger for. But someone has set out to kill her – and expose me. I’ll destroy any man – human or Fae – who brings harm to her, for she is the light my soul can’t risk losing…

Viviana's Review:

And it keeps getting better! Book 3 in the "Reapers" Series and I'm still enthralled in the overarching arc of the story line as well as the romance and potential romance for each of the characters AKA Reapers. Donna has done a phenomenal job of creating this world  which is a spin off of her "Dark Kings" series.

Uhm... let me take a minute to share that usually, a spin off will/may bring characters or a story line into one another, but not necessarily entwined them. Up until this point/book, I would have said "Sure, you don't 'have' to read the Dark Kings / Reapers series to fully get/enjoy what's going on in each of their worlds...." However, there are characters that are beginning to cross over from the Dark Kings into the Reapers and vice versa that while are currently standing fine along this story line, there is a whole lot going on in their backstory that occurs in the Dark Kings series. I'm also anticipating a similar cross over of certain characters from the Reapers to cross over to the Dark Kings.  So... if you are enjoying the Reapers, you will enjoy the Dark Kings Series and you have time to catch up before the next release.

If you like PNR and looking for a breath of fresh air, check out the REAPERS Series! The heroines are strong, the heroes, while Alpha males, they do not step over the line of being an A-hole. The story line is creative as there are twists and turns and certain aspects of the story line that are kept a mystery. You also get your romance and the steaminess that Donna Grant is known for!

 Excerpt

The Light Fae. As a race, they were supposed to be all about good and decency, but there wasn’t a shred of either emotion within the walls of Usaeil’s castle.

Neve observed Talin examining everything around him - from the castle, the Fae walking outside, the trees, and even the sky. His pale silver eyes missed nothing. She wondered what he saw, and how he catalogued things.

His long, black hair had the barest hint of a wave to it as it hung to the shoulders of his pale blue shirt. He shoved one side behind an ear and tilted his head as if listening.

She didn’t think he realized she was still beside him, not that she minded. It gave her a chance to fill her gaze with his sharply chiseled features.

The hard planes of his jaw and chin were in direct contrast to his wide lips and thick eyelashes. It was difficult to look at Talin and notice anything but those beautiful eyes.

Except when she did look down, she saw a body that made her hands itch to touch him. His shirt barely contained wide shoulders that tapered to narrow hips where navy pants encased his legs. Every muscle was honed and defined.

As eye-catching as Talin’s personal package was, it didn’t hold a candle to what drew her interest – his bearing. The way he stood, walked, talked.

In a castle full of Light who believed themselves above others, the only one who had the attitude and demeanor to carry it off was Talin.

Book Review: Dark Alpha's Embrace by Donna Grant

Dark Alpha's Embrace
(Reaper Series, #2)
by Donna Grant

Blurb:
An exclusive new series from New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant!

There's no escaping a Reaper. I'm an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I'm coming for you...
I'm a warrior. My unbreakable determination, my backbone of steel define me. As a Reaper who does Death's bidding, weakness is a word I don't understand. Until a stunning librarian stirs emotions deep within me I've never felt before. Her soft curves blunt the sharp edges of my soul, crushing my defenses - yet make me stronger. But underneath those wide eyes and fierce femininity, she has a weapon, one she won't hesitate to use. And when the Dark begin their deadly descent, we'll need each other's love and protection...or risk fracturing apart.

Viviana's Review:

Book 2 in the Reaper Series, Donna continues to spin her web of captivating her readers and creating characters that are filled with mystery and intrigue.

Picking up where Dark Alpha’s Claim (bk #1) left off we find the Reapers continuing their mission and along the way having to learn to deal with some new circumstances/issues they never thought possible.

The Reapers, made up of both Dark and Light Fae work together in this team assembled by Death.  As a spinoff series from The Dark Kings, the thought of Darks and Light being team members isn’t something that was thought to be believed.  Apparently Death has ways about her.

Speaking of The Dark Kings Series, both series intertwine and overlap a bit - something readers may wish to consider but not an issue if you haven’t read the Dark series.

Ah yes, Death.  Love how Ms. Donna creates the air of mystery and then adds a bunch of things that readers must get through in order to find out.  Donna’s gift with words comes to light as she keeps her readers entranced and coming back for more.

Overall a great continuation, and I cannot wait until the next book.
