Savaged
by Mia Sheridan

Blurb:
A new heart-pounding, suspenseful, and supremely romantic novel from New York Times bestseller, Mia Sheridan.

When wilderness guide, Harper Ward, is summoned to the small town sheriff's office in Helena Springs, Montana, to provide assistance on a case, she is shocked to find that their only suspect in the double murder investigation is a man described as a savage.

But the longer she watches the man known only as Lucas, on the station surveillance camera, the more intrigued she becomes. He certainly looks primitive with his unkempt appearance and animal skin attire, but she also sees intelligence in his eyes, sensitivity in his expression. Who is he? And how is it possible that he's lived alone in the forest since he was a small child?

As secrets begin to emerge, Harper is thrust into something bigger and more diabolical than she ever could have imagined. And standing right at the center of it all, is Lucas. But is he truly the wild man he appears to be? A cold blooded killer? An innocent victim? Or a perplexing mix of all three?

Harper must find out the answers to these questions because the more time she spends with him, the more she risks losing her heart.

Viviana's Review:
I really enjoyed this story. Lots of emotions and characters that you will like. I've listened to a few of Mia's books and they all have real emotions and moments that cause the water works to come out. This is no different. BRANT'S RETURN starts off with a moment that left you at the edge of your seat and then wanting more.

I liked everything about this story except for the insta-love between the main characters, Brant  & Isabelle. Other than that, I really loved their character development and their story. They each of a lot of things baggage to deal with and sort through. I will say that it was a breath of fresh air to have the hero be the one that knew what he wanted first!

Narrators Review: Jacob Morgan & Virginia Rose were perfect for this title. Their performance was  and enhanced the story. They each provided the characters with different voices/tones providing an additional depth to their performance.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and the characters. The pace was good and you will want to read more about them. I'm looking forward to listening to another Mia Sheridan book.

Rating: 3.5 Stars - I Really Liked it!

Viviana's Review:

This audiobook had a lot.... a lot of emotions, a lot of strengths, a lot of chemistry & steaminess and a lot fo great writing. I've only listened to one other Mia Sheridan book (Stinger), which I really enjoyed and have added the rest of the titles in that series to my TBL mountain! The opportunity came up to review this one and add the awesome narrators and it immediately became a "giveme giveme giveme" sort of moment! LOL

I really enjoyed the story overall. Both the hero and heroine are great characters that are well developed and continue to grow. The readers get a little bit of everything... romance, suspense, thrill, second chances, steaminess, etc.

With all the awesomeness aside, there is something I want to address. This book contains an emotional trigger..... usually books contain 'warnings' when it comes to extreme bondage or PTSD or acts of violence. I know/understand that sometimes, if a warning is included, it may be a spoiler. As someone that has gone through the same situation as Audra, I think the author did a great job on handling the situation and emotions. It was a bit of a bang and again... emotional trigger. I would have been better prepared to handle/react to the topic. I still would have wanted to read it and would have.

Narrators Review:

Both Lance & Erin are two of my favorite narrators so when I learned that they had teamed up to narrate DANE'S STORM, I just had to listen. Their performance was awesome and brought the characters to life. They each provided the characters and the situation with emotions that pulls at the heart strings.

Overall, a great story filled with heart and one that listeners

Audio Book Review: Stinger by Mia Sheridan

Stinger
by Mia Sheridan
Narrated by: Maxine Mitchell and  Brian Pallino

Blurb:

Grace Hamilton was the girl with a plan. She knew exactly where her life was going and prided herself on always achieving her goals. It was who she was, and how she lived her life. She never stepped outside the lines, and never considered what she might desire and whom she was actually trying so hard to please. Until him…

Carson Stinger was a man who didn't play by any rules except his own. Working in the adult entertainment industry, he didn't care what others thought, and took each day as it came, no direction, no plan. He knew what women wanted from him and believed it was all he had to offer. Until her…

When circumstances forced them to spend several hours together, they walked away changed. But for two people who never should have meshed, overcoming the reality of their vastly different lives wasn't possible. At least not yet…

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE NOVEL. The first two books in the series need not be read to enjoy this book. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Viviana's Review:
This is the first book I read by Mia Sheridan. The blurb was intriguing but it was the audio sample that made me want to read this book! That audio clip is a perfect sample of what readers have to look forward to in both the story and the narrators. The hero and heroine are both smart and sarcastic. She’s witty! He’s extremely gifted in making just about anything into a sexual innuendo. Their bantering is awesome! Their conversation and interaction with each other truly drives the story forward. It’s what hooked me. Otherwise, I don’t think I would have picked up a book about a porn star… I mean … really? This seems to be the start of a new trend… porn star that will turn a new leaf or no longer work in the industry because he met ‘the one’. Yet, in “Stinger” the author does a fantastic job in making the reader forget that aspect of the hero. It’s more about the characters themselves.

The story is divided into two parts… when Carson and Grace first met and then five years later. The vibe of the first half is very light, carefree, and very “new adult” while the second half is the complete opposite. I would say the second half reads more like a contemporary with elements of romantic suspense. This was an interesting divide, but it makes sense for the story because of the characters.

There were some tropes or issues that are in many other books like “if they would have just talked” or “if he would have just gone up to her instead of assumed”, some things could have been avoided but then again, there wouldn’t have been a story to tell, right?

I loved Carson from the very beginning. Sarcastic, quick wit and self-confident. He’s also funny! Sweet and has a lot of love to give but just doesn’t know he’s worth being loved.

Narrators Review:
Both Maxine and Brian did an excellent job telling their part of the story. Each provided unique tones and voices to the different characters. They each brought the characters to life.

Overall a great listen/read and one that makes you look into the other books in the series. Though classified as a New Adult, the characters are 23 yrs old when the story begins but are 28ish when the story ends (see this is why I don’t LIKE the sub-genre of new adult… adult is an adult is an adult). So if you have something against the new adult genre or are just not fond of it, give this one  chance, you won’t be sorry. I’ll be checking out the rest of the books in the series as I’m curious!
