Book Review: Rock Courtship (A Rock Kiss Novella) by Nalini Singh

Rock Courtship
(A Rock Kiss Novella, #1.5)
by Nalini Singh

What happens when the Gentleman of Rock decides to play dirty?

A drummer for the hottest rock band on the planet, David has a single, powerful weakness: Thea, the band's publicist and the woman who steals his breath away with her every move.

Only problem is, Thea doesn't date clients--or musicians. Emotionally scarred by a cheating ex, she's not about to risk her heart with a man who has groupies buzzing around him like flies. Even if his sexy smile ties her up in knots.

What she doesn't know is that David is a one-woman man...and he's madly in love with her. David's determined to prove he's worth the risk, and willing to court her, step by exquisite step. Thea's about to discover just how long and hard this handsome drummer can play.

Viviana's Review:
"Rock Courtship" is a novella that follows "Rock Addiction" the first book in the ROCK KISS Series which I didn't read. YIKES you say? Not really! ROCK COURTSHIP can be read as a stand alone but I will admit, I am a tad be curious about how Molly and Fox became a couple. So this being said, onto the review!
I liked it from the very beginning. It captivated you and kept you intrigued on how things were going to play out. At the same time, I kept wondering if the same "I'm dating a rock star - lets see how its NOT GOING TO WORK" troupes done in the past. The characters are also down to earth and pleasant. David is absolutely adorable yet can be a complete Bad Boy when it comes to the bedroom! YUM! Thea is not only smart but independent as well. She is determined to not fall for David. Let the courtship begin!

The way David tries to woo Thea is actually very creative and works perfectly for both characters. The conversations between them are meaningful yet insightful. This is very much character-driven, I really enjoyed seeing them fall further in love with each other than they were before the courtship began. It was also extremely refreshing to have the hero be a "one woman" guy from the beginning vs. "because of her I want to be a one woman guy" and to have the heroine not be completely "oh why is this SEXY rock star interested in plain, dull, not sexy me?". I think this is also another reason why I really liked this novella! Oh and how things were handled when the "conflict" is introduced by each of the characters is brilliantly done.

If you haven't read the first book, but curious about this one, grab it! If you read the first book, but were not "impressed" or "in love" with it (I've read some of the reviews and I'm seeing a lot of "meh"), give this one a try! Those same reviewers are LOVING or "enjoyed it much better".

Over all, a great read that has me curious about what's coming next in the series!!

Rating: 4 Stars - Loved It
