Book Review: Soul Scorched by Donna Grant

Soul Scorched
by Donna Grant

Blurb:
Darcy was floating on a cloud of pure passion. Everywhere he touched, Warrick was leaving a mark on her, forever changing her. She could feel it through her skin and muscle, through bone and into her soul. It was as if he was changing her. And she welcomed it…

Her power is a blessing.

Born on the Isle of Skye, Darcy is a beautiful woman of many gifts. Fortune-telling is her forte, and she remains the only Druid who could unlock the secrets—and desires—of a Dragon King. His name is Warrick. And now that Darcy’s seen into his dragon heart, nothing will ever be the same…

His passion is a curse.

Warrick never intended to put Darcy in harm’s way. But ever since she revealed a shocking truth, Darcy has been hunted by the Dark Fae, who want to use her powers for their own evil purposes. Now it’s up to Warrick to do whatever it takes to keep the woman who sets his soul on fire safe. But protecting Darcy means putting himself—and his entire race—in jeopardy. Is his desperate longing for one woman worth the risk of losing everything… for eternity?

Dive into Soul Scorched, the sizzling next novel in the Dark Kings series from New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant.

Viviana's Review:
LOVED IT! Donna continues to draw readers into the world of dragons and we want MORE! The arc of the story is expertly executed where the reader is entranced with what is currently going on and is longing to know what comes next!

Darcy's power has put her in harms way and Warrick has been task to protect her. The blurb already tells us they will be together, its the how that we get to learn. The details of what exactly occurs to bring her to the attention of the Dark Fae and what is the truth that is so big that is a game changer.

I had the opportunity to interview Donna in June for the release of Soul Scorched (you can click HERE to read the interview) where I tried several times to find out who is Rhi's Dragon King. She didn't share :( This question though is an excellent example of just how Donna has been able to keep the readers guessing. Same goes for Ulrik . Heck, even Balladyn seems to be going back and forth "good guy/bad guy". But I guess that is how sometimes people really are... we're not black and white... we have are good parts and are not so good parts.... Speaking of bad guys... well technically not a bad guy but right now... he's an ASS! CON! OMG! Yes... let's leave it at that! COMPLETE ASS!

Rhi continues on her journey and intrigues me to no end. I'm fascinated by her and can't wait until her story is told! It's going to be EPIC!

A great continuation of the series and I cannot wait until the next installment!

Rating: 4.5 Stars - REALLY LOVED IT
