Book Review: "Bound" by Elisabeth Naughton

Bound
(Eternal Guardians, Bk #6)
By Elisabeth Naughton

Synopsis:

TITUS—To most his gift seems like a blessing, but for him it’s a curse the other Eternal Guardians—those who protect the mortal realm from threats of the Underworld—seek to exploit. One he would gladly trade for the chance to be free…

Obsessed. Her touch is like a drug. From the moment he met her, Titus knew she was different. Even dangerous. Yet though his guardian brethren are convinced Natasa is working for Hades, Titus can’t stop thinking about her. Can’t stop fantasizing about her. Can’t stop craving the one thing he knows could lead to the downfall of his world.

Possessed. Faced with stopping Natasa or joining in her quest, Titus falls to temptation and is thrust into a world of lust, deception, and deadly treachery designed by the gods. Her touch—only hers—frees him from his bonds, but desire may just condemn him. Because before the end he’ll have to decide which is more important: duty and honor to those he took an oath to defend, or a woman who could very well be the biggest curse to them all.

Viviana's Review:
A perfect mixture of action, romance, Greek Mythology, mystery and steaminess! I had missed the world of the Eternal Guardians! The series is like comfort food! You know its going to be great and you love it! I also love that everyone from the previous books all make an appearance, well, not so much as an appearance but rather they are part of the story!
I've always been intrigued by Titus. He's intelligent, a bit sarcastic, while part of a team, seems to be a loner and there's something sad about him that you know there's more than he's sharing or letting on. Elisabeth (Author) did a great job in setting up his story in "Enslaved" and we had the opportunity to learn a few new things. Could you read "Bound" as a stand alone book? You could, you may be a little lost in the beginning, however, why would you want to? This is a great series!!

A descendant of Odysseus, gifted with the power to read minds and when touched, feels what the other is feeling. One might think this to be a gift indeed, but imagine not being able to touch anyone or have them touch you as it would cause you immense pain.Constantly being bombarded with other's thoughts. Thankfully, the Argonauts have learned to bock their thoughts from Titus, but sometimes, they slip. He also feels used for his gift by Theron and that doesn't sit well with him at all. The question is how far is Titus willing to go for an obsession? The risks are high, but to him they are worth it.

We met Natasa in "Enslaved" as she was trying to meet with Maela in "Enslaved". The instant they met, Titus knew she was different - SILENCE! He couldn't hear her! Nothing, absolutely silent! You know what they say, Silence is Golden (well at least at the AMC theaters). Que in the curiosity and obsession. Now, I can't blame him, if this were to occur to me, I'd be curious and want to know why!

Natasa is on a mission that we don't get to know all the details about right away. Is she an enemy? Can she be trusted? Theron thinks she's dangerous and working with or for the enemy. Titus believes otherwise and of course, he's obssessed with not only finding her but with her in general. Naturally, this difference in opinion is going to cause a rift between Theron and Titus and may even include a rift between the Eternal Guardians as a team.

"Bound" is beautifully written giving fans exactly what they wanted and actually leaves them wanting more! I wanted more Titus! I'm hoping the trend continues and that we will get to see more of him in future books! The author also does a fabulous job of setting things up for the next book. Seems like we will be getting Nick's story next! Wow! That one will most definately be one interesting and emotion read. Especially knowing how much Elisabeth LOVES to torture her characters! Looking forward to it!

Never read the series before? I highly recommend it! If you're a fan of Greek Mythology or just PNR, you'll enjoy this series! You can check out my "Featured Series: Eternal Guardians" for more information.
