Meet Gunner!

Gunner is a vampire and a council Hunter. He’s alpha to core and not afraid to take what is his, Cassia included. He’s only loyal to those who deserve his respect. Harrison is not among the very short list. Especially after he ordered the Hunters to track down and kill all hybrids. 

Physical description: 
He stands about 6 foot 1 with lean muscles and has long blond hair and brown eyes. His skin is milky white. 

Magick Abilities: 
Teleportation. Supernatural speed and night vision. As a Hunter he has enhanced abilities, making him strong and faster than the average para.

Weakness: 
The sunlight. Unlike the undead, vampire don’t burn instantly in the sun, but they are sensitive to the UV rays. Long exposure to the sun weakens them.

Kelly, from Books-n-Kisses  and I are extremely excited to have Lia Davis with us today as part of our Audio Book Lovin' Series!  

Lia, what do you love/like about audio books?

Hi! I’m so excited to be here. I love audio books. I got addicted to them when I worked the day job and had to drive an hour each way to and from work. I love how I can listen while working out, clean house, or just enjoying nice weather on my patio.

Tell us what involvement do you have in getting your novels turned into audiobooks? 

For my indie titles, I have full control over the process from the covers to selecting and working with the narrators. My Decadent Publishing titles, I work with the publisher in selecting and approving the audio books.

How is your narrator selected for your novels? 

In ACX (Audio Creation Exchange), I put my book up with a sample file and narrators audition. I listen to them and select the best voice. This can sometimes take a little while.

What information/guidance do you provide to the narrator? 

I give them basic info to do the audition. Like ascent I’d like to hear, things I don’t like to hear. When I find the right narrator, I work with them in capturing the write voice. My current narrators are amazing to work with and I usually don’t have to ask for changes.

Do you listen to your audiobooks after they are finished?  Why or why not.

Yes! One, I love listening to them from someone else’s prospective. And Two, I love audio books.

If you have one book in your backlist that is not already on audio, which novel would you want to be turned into an audio book?

I would like to get The Divinities series on Audio in the future.

What do you love about audiobooks as reader? As an Author?

As a reader, I love the listening to them while driving on long trips or flying. As an Author, it’s pretty much the same. I listen to mine to approve them and listen to others because I love reading.

For anyone who has not listened to an audiobook before.  What would you tell them to try to convince them to listen?

Everyone is different. Before I started listening to them I thought I could listen to someone read the story to me because the voices in my head would be different and it would be a big distraction. That’s not true all the time. With the right voice, audio books are very enjoyable. I have ran into a few where the narrator wasn’t right for me. You have to listen the samples provided on Audible to see if you would enjoy it or not.
