What's Cooking with Shane East.

Sounds like it would be a fun show, right?

Shane says there are three things you should have in the kitchen...

Really Excellent Olive Oil

Morton's Sea Salt (smoked or non smoked)

Fresh Lemon

You should also have

Dried Basil

Dried Sage

Smoked Paprika

Black Pepper

In you don't know or want to get a Mandoline

This one has a very cool feature that include a Spiralizer that Shane had mentioned he also uses.

When he cooks chicken he uses a meat mallet to flat it.

If you need/want one, click here!

He uses avocado oil to pan fry and sauté.

Just in case... pan frying is a form of frying food characterized by the use of minimal cooking oil or fat.

Viviana's Tip - Did you know that avocado oil is the safest oil for high heat cooking (e.g. frying) due to its extremely high smoke point (as high as 500°F). You can use avocado oil just like your regular frying oil to reduce the risk and make a healthier choice.

Okay back to Shane's cooking....

Best way to eat chicken?

Shane likes to flatten a chicken breast using the flat side of the meat mallet (Viviana's tip - cover cutting board with plastic wrap. Lay the chicken breast on top and cover with another plastic wrap.).

Once flatten, coat the chicken with brown rice flour (for those that are gluten free) (Viviana's tip - to help the flour stick to the chicken you can either lightly coat the chicken with olive or avocado oil or you can use the traditional method of using eggs or other ingredients (e.g. yogurt, buttermilk, sour cream, etc.) )

Heat up the avocado oil.

Place breaded/floured chicken in heated oil and sauté or pan fry the chicken breast til GBD (golden brown and delicious).
