Book Review: Bayon/Jean-Baptiste (Bayou Heat #3-4) by Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright

Bayon/Jean-Baptiste
(Bayou Heat Series, bks 3 & 4)
by Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright

Blurb:
The fight continues in the Wildlands. Facing extinction, the Pantera have been given a miracle. A child. The first one in over fifty years. But even as they prepare to celebrate, the enemy strikes, putting at risk the fragile female who carries the hope of their people.

BAYON
Charming, drop-dead gorgeous Hunter Bayon is thirsting for revenge on the enemies who slipped into the Wildlands and attacked Ashe and her vulnerable child. Pledging to track down the cowards, Bayon goes on the hunt, pursuing the humans to a nearby town. But searching their shabby hideaway, he makes a discovery that shocks him to his very soul and might very well destroy the heart of the Pantera.

JEAN-BAPTISTE
Tattooed and pierced, sexy Nurturer Jean-Baptiste has been living in utter isolation. His cat is out of control, and the only thing that soothes the beast is a rare mineral he keeps inking into his skin. Until he meets her: Genevieve Burel. The beautiful and buttoned-up female puma is unlike anyone he’s ever met. She makes his cat purr, and he knows he must possess her, mate with her. But the secret she's keeping might threaten not only their unbridled passion for one another, but the very future of the Pantera race.

Viviana's Review:

I loved that we got to learn more about the Pantera history and legend at the beginning of the book!

Alexandra and Laura continue to provide us with delicious alpha males that we devour! Woke up early in the morning to have some quality "Vivi & Book" time without any interruptions. Read both Bayon and Jean-Baptiste in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down! Both authors do a fantastic job in creating not only sexy characters, but they are also intriguing individuals that just draw you in wanting to get to know them better!
Bayon:
I was glad that a plot arc from Parish's story was brought into Bayon's.  Can't say more on that as it would be a spoiler. After an attempt on Raphel's mate, Ashe's life was in danger, its up to Bayon to find those who attacked her and destroy them. Their magic continues to dissipate and more questions continue to be asked. Never before has their enemy not only been so bold in attacking the Pantera on their own land, but most importantly that the enemy were able to infiltrate the magic and step foot on their land was disconcerting. Bayon is a hunter and will find the those that dare harm his kind and destroy them.

Enter an unexpected turn of events. When done right, those can be awesome and in this case, it is! Bayon finds a female Pantera who has been held captive for over 20 yrs. He knows this Pantera. He's loved this women for as long as he can remember. Her family and friends thought her dead. She had disappeared without a trace and when the connection to her brother was gone, they knew she was dead. I can only imagine the surprise and wealth of emotions that must have gone through his head and heart at the site of her!

She's been a fighter all her life. She has fought and not broken throughout all the years her enemy have held her captive. She must keep reminding herself of who and what she is. When she eyes upon the stranger that has set her free, he looks familiar but she can't remember.

Bayon helps her remember and learn they have a common enemy. They will fight together to put an end to them.

Jean-Baptiste:
I KNEW I was going to LOVE Jean-Baptiste!! You read the blurb!! He's the 'bad boy' lol!! We all know how much we love our bad boys!!! Not a surprise though when he's paired with his complete opposite to work with. She is straight laced. There's only black and white, never any grey and rules are rules which are NOT to be broken. heheheheh She has NO CLUE!!

The bantering between these two is extremely entertaining and how he pushes her buttons. He LIKES pushing those buttons and she fights even harder not to acknowledge that she likes it too and feels some sort of connection towards him.

Laura knows how to write the males and make them complete Alphas but still find that soft spot that makes you melt!! The steaminess is what you expect from Laura and doesn't disappoint!

Overall, a great read! Now to get my hands on the next one so I can be all caught up (so far, as there are a few more installments!!)
