Kissed by a Vampire

Synopsis:
For two thousand years, vampire elder Stacia has roamed on her own, haunted by the betrayal that turned her into a creature of the night. Until she comes face-to-face with the unforgettable DEA agent she once brought back from the brink of death. Alex Garcia knows that demons exist—the real kind, the kind that are kidnapping women and selling them into slavery. Viviana's Review:
“Kissed by a Vampire” is set in the hot, steamy, sultry South Beach, Florida. I was actually born and raised in Miami and South Beach had different meaning during the different stages of my life. This book brought back fun memories of hanging out with friends, dancing at clubs and enjoying the night life. Though there were (and still are) interesting individuals that are part of the club scene, I don’t think they were vampires. Though that would explain…….  Never mind.
I was extremely excited to find out that Caridad had a new book coming out as I loved her Sin Hunter Series (reviews here) and love her writing style and interesting approach to her paranormal characters. She doesn’t disappoint with “Kissed by a Vampire”. I didn’t know this was part of a series, however, Caridad did such a wonderful job in telling the story and providing enough information, allowing the reader to not feel like they are missing something important and actually making this a good stand alone book.

We have a great story with fantastic characters. Stacia is smart, independent and can so kill you in the blink of an eye. Here was an interesting twist, the heroine is the vampire and the hero is doing the chasing and romancing.

Alex, our hero, is smooth, confident, sexy and determined to find out the truth and there are a few truths he’s after. Murder, kidnapping, proving he’s ready to be back “on the job” after a several work related injury, Alex isn’t going to let Stacia ruin his career. He knows something is different about her and he wants to get to the bottom of it.

“Kissed by a Vampire” is a great, easy read that will keep you captivated. The take on vampires is a new and a breath of fresh air.

Rating: 3.5 Stars - I Really Liked It!
