Audiobook Love 2017 Presents: Summer Roberts Guest Post

Thrilled to have Narrator Summer Roberts with us today sharing her Top 5 Reasons Why Being a Narrator ROCKS!!!!

My Top 5 Reasons Why Being a Narrator ROCKS!

I’m going to work backwards! Let the countdown begin!

5) You get to read books you might not have read if you weren’t narrating them, and explore different genres and topics.

4) You get to learn things you never knew before about all sorts of different stuff (places, ideas, sexual positions…)

3) Sometimes you get to work directly with authors, which is so cool.  Authors are amazing and I am continually in awe of their talent and dedication to their craft and fans!

2) You can do your work in pajamas or yoga pants with a messy bun and no make up, because no one sees you!

1) You get to do things like THIS! The audiobook community is the best, most thoughtful and supportive group of people.  Everyone I meet and interact with in this industry is top notch, and I can’t say enough good things about the business.  I feel so grateful to be a part of it, to meet so many smart and sassy folks, and to get to do what I love for a living.

Thank you to Audibook Lovin’ for celebrating the industry during Audibook Month!

Some hot summer listens read by Summer Roberts include: The Badd Brothers series by Jasinda Wilder, Falling Hard by Lexi Ryan, and the super funny rom com Sexy Motherpucker by Lili Valente.

About The Narrator

Summer Roberts is a two time Audie Award nominee and one-time winner (Alpha by Jasinda Wilder).  When not narrating, Summer can be found spending way too much money in bookstores and taking walks with her dog Georgina.  She loves wine, yoga, HGTV, and discovering great new authors and blogs!

About The Narrator

Andi Arndt naturally came into VO / Narration after years of extensive work in both theatre and public radio. She taught acting and Voice for the Stage at James Madison University for 12 years and has been an actor, producer, director and vocal coach for full productions of live theatre including drama, comedy, musicals and staged readings. To strengthen her teaching skills, she took the month-long Intensive at Shakespeare & Company in the Berkshires, where she learned about Kristin Linklater’s method of voice study. Andi then trained to teach Linklater’s method for several years, creating a solid foundation of technique that has served her narration work – and ever-increasing list of happy clients – incredibly well.

With rare acumen, Andi intuitively understands the creative process of the writer, and has earned a trusted reputation for taking excellent care of every project she lends her voice to. To date, she has narrated over 100 books in contemporary fiction, non-fiction (legal, medical, geopolitical, bio/memoir), mystery/thriller, contemporary romance, young adult and children’s. She was also nominated for an Audie Award for Short Story Fiction in 2014, and was a co-narrator for Mary Kubica’s THE GOOD GIRL, recognized with a Voice Arts Award nomination in 2015. Her recordings for children and teens have earned her glowing reviews in School Library Journal.

In her e-learning work, Andi knows exactly how to utilize her teaching background to not only engage the learner but help them enjoy a course that they may have been dreading.

Andi is busy delivering her calm, cool and clear sound from her broadcast quality studio in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Through her production company, Lyric Audiobooks LLC, which includes a team of editors and proofers, she delivers fully produced, finished audio and often travels to other studios to direct and produce audiobooks for indie authors.

Audiobook Lovin' 2017: Robyn Peterman Guest Post

Hi Everyone! We're so excited to have Author Robyn Peterman with us today sharing her audiobooks! Scroll below to learn more, listen to sound clips of her audiobooks and enter the giveaway.

Okay, I loved them, but I didn’t have any for my series… yet.

However, I did have a tremendous amount of readers asking for them. Sooooo, I decided it was time to get those babies made.

Initially I planned to read the books myself. In my former career I was a professional actress and I did a ton of voice over work. And then I realized I was completely insane. LOL The time alone I would need to record the books didn’t exist in my world. I write books, I shuttle teenagers to lacrosse and dance and I do laundry. It registered in my brain that I would have to clone myself to make this work and who has the time to make a clone? Plus the thought of two of me even frightened me—not to mention my kids would be appalled if there was more than one of me.

I began to talk about doing the audio for the series on FaceBook and one of my good friends from college contacted me to see if she could read for me. Suffice it to say I was blown away and wildly excited. She’s a major voice over talent and would cost 37453475345 million dollars an hour—slightly out of my price range. BUT we worked it out and the brilliant and hilarious Stephanie Riggio agreed to do my Magic and Mayhem series!

That was a very good day.

Listening to my words come to life has been a delight and all who have heard her agree. I truly made the right choice and I thank the fates that Stephanie saw my post and got in touch. Things happen for a reason and this was meant to be.

The Hot Damned series is also in audio helmed by the amazing Jessica Almassy and the entire Shift Happens series is coming out July 11, 2017 led by the brilliant Hollie Jackson! AND on top of all that listening goodness the Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters series will drop in August 2017!!!! Soon EVERYTHING will be available for your listening pleasure.

I still might take a crack at reading one of my books in the future, but I have to finish the laundry first.

I’ve included the samples from the Magic and Mayhem series so you can hear how wonderful Stephanie Riggio is!!!

AND if you’d like to take a listen to samples from all my audio books, please check out my audio book website page.

Thanks for hosting me!
xoxo Robyn
