 Viviana's Review:
Another great addition to the series! Picks right where the previous books left off and continues to leave you wanting more! Donna continues leaving the readers mystified with which Dragon King was Rhi's Lover and just when you think you've figured it out, bang... nope. BUT perhaps, we have finally had a clue! Well, at least Kelly, from Books-n-Kisses and I think we have an idea. Needless to say, we're going to corner Donna at the RT Convention and see if she'll give up the information because this is KILLING US!!!!!!

Rhys has been a yummy, I mean interesting character from the very beginning. Mysterious, yet made to be a playboy, but we knew there had to be more to him than that. In "Night's Blaze" we finally get the insight we've been searching for and we're not disappointed. He's very protective of those he loves and he is self sacrificing. There isn't anything he wouldn't do to protect Lily and what he does in "Night's Blaze" is epic.

I was impressed with Lily. She comes across as a delicate, dwindling flower, but she's not. She's got spunk and can hold her own! While she's soft spoken, she's extremely intelligent and has an inner strength that we don't know about until we learn her story! She was a great match for Rhys and their story was filled with action! She

The other thing I'm enjoying immensely about this series is the mix of Kings, Warriors, Druids, and Fae! They keep things interesting and with a genre where there are little surprises left, Donna keeps them coming!! There were a few of them in this book alone! Some you just had to book the eReader down and go 'WOW! Didn't see that coming' and in the case where you have friends reading the same book, I had Kelly messaging me "DID YOU FINISH reading the book?" Me: Yes, why? Kelly: WTF?!?!?! Did she really..... and I'm not going to share the rest of the conversation since it would be a spoiler but I'll leave you a hint... the ending.

Overall, a fantastic read. Great character development! The over arching story arc continues to expand, thrilling and intriguing the readers while the individual story lines of each character draws the readers in wanting more. New characters are introduced which only keep you guessing as to what's going to happen next and those in play leave you wondering what will become of them. I couldn't put this down!

Rating: 4.5: LOVED IT Very Much

Tempt Me Tuesday with Mad Hatter Reads 3/31/2015

Tempt Me Tuesday

I happen to agree with Mad Hatter Read's comment's below about all the goodies she's sharing with us today!!

So many temptations, so little time this week! Just look at all the new releases coming out this week…it’s so hard to choose…which one to start first LOL! Happy reading everyone!

Queen of Abaddon (The Chosen Soul #3) by Heather Killough-Walden

Raven shoved herself to her feet, pulling from willpower she didn’t know she had, to scramble to the railing that overlooked the remainder of the library seven floors below.
Drake of Tanith stood at the base of the stairs, looking up. The gray marble flooring at his feet appeared to have been scorched; a black scar of searing evidence radiated out from his boots in a star pattern. The smell of smoke filled the air. An angry magic-formed wind ripped through his hair and tore through his cloak, and yet he remained unmoving, a statue of absolutely beautiful darkness, with glowing eyes.
Those eyes imprisoned hers. Time stopped.
In that new stillness, he held her fast and slowly began to climb the stairs, a predator stalking skittish prey. The rest of the world fell away, and they were alone.
“Raven,” he said.
His voice was that of the king of Abaddon now, and echoed with the power of his title. It was the embodiment of promise and need, that duo that tore down a strong person’s last defenses to lay them out for the slaughter.
His glowing eyes flashed, his gaze intensifying as stark shadows claimed his face and his look became hungry. “I know you think you have to run from me.” Another step, smooth and slow. “You believe there to be no other way.”
'There isn’t,' she thought. 'I have to… I have to do… something.'
“But some things were meant to be.”
She could almost feel him upon her, his heat, his strength. She could smell the leather of his armor, and the scent of smoke was stronger now. And something else – magic. It was the aroma of dark magic, like black diamonds crushed into wine.
So close.
There was the faintest hint of a smile curling the corners of his sensuous lips. “You can’t change fate.” He shook his head, just once. “And fate decided on us long, long ago.”

Queen of Abaddon is the long awaited, third and final installment in the romantic fantasy Chosen Soul series by New York Times bestselling author, Heather Killough-Walden. Within its pages, the hunt is on, a war is waged, and the ultimate sacrifice is made - for a love that defies the gods, changes the rules, and turns back time.
At long last, it will be a cold day in Hell.

Cursed (Immortal Brothers, #2) by Ice by Jacquelyn Frank

Cursed by Ice (Immortal Brothers, #2)
From New York Times bestselling author Jacquelyn Frank comes the smoothly sensual second book in an exciting new series featuring four immortal warrior brothers who must stake their hearts against their fate.
As punishment for plotting with his brothers to steal immortality, Garreth is suffering a freezing torment until the end of time. Again and again, his fierce fighter’s physique is frozen into a chiseled ice sculpture, his heart hardening like a diamond in his chest—only to thaw and resume the chilling torture. Until, like his older brother Dethan, he is offered a reprieve from a goddess—in exchange for his allegiance in a celestial civil war.
Garreth lives to fight and fights to live. But while laying siege to an embattled city, he finds another reason to go on—a beautiful warrior woman named Sarielle, who commands a mythic beast through a mysterious and powerful bond. Terrified of her strength, the city rulers have kept her captive, and now she refuses to submit to a new master. As Garreth seeks to unleash her passion and melt the icy resistance of her heart, will he become her ultimate salvation—or lead them both to greater destruction?

In a final bid to avert a war that seems inevitable, Raphael agrees to meet an enemy he knows of old. She is formidable, wily, and not to be trusted. But in his arrogance, Raphael believes he can foil whatever treachery she has brewing.
Cynthia Leighton—Raphael’s human mate, beautiful, smart, and deadly when threatened. She doesn’t trust anyone, much less a powerful vampire claiming to want peace. So while Raphael prepares to negotiate a treaty, Cyn is preparing for the inevitable double-cross that she knows is coming. Raphael worries about saving thousands of vampire lives. She only cares about one, and she will do anything to keep him alive and in her arms.
When Cyn is proven right, when it all falls apart and Raphael’s enemies draw on ancient magic to trap him, taking him away from Cyn and out of the war, it all falls to her—to find Raphael, to save the thousands of vampires who will die if she doesn’t succeed... and to kill every single being, human or vampire, who gets in her way.

They're partners in their personal lives, too. Quinn's a private investigator and Danni works with him. When they look into the case, they discover a secret lover of Arnie's and a history of jealousies and old hatreds that leads them back to the band Arnie once played with—and Tyler plays with now.

The Skull Throne (Demon Cycle, #4) by Peter V. Brett

The Skull Throne (Demon Cycle, #4)The first three novels in New York Times bestselling author Peter V. Brett’s groundbreaking Demon Cycle series—The Warded Man, The Desert Spear, and The Daylight War—set a new standard for heroic fantasy. The powerful saga of humans winnowed to the brink of extinction by night-stalking demons, and the survivors who fight back, has kept readers breathless as they eagerly turned the pages. Now the thrilling fourth volume, The Skull Throne, raises the stakes as it carries the action in shocking new directions.
The Skull Throne of Krasia stands empty.
Built from the skulls of fallen generals and demon princes, it is a seat of honor and ancient, powerful magic, keeping the demon corelings at bay. From atop the throne, Ahmann Jardir was meant to conquer the known world, forging its isolated peoples into a unified army to rise up and end the demon war once and for all.
But Arlen Bales, the Warded Man, stood against this course, challenging Jardir to a duel he could not in honor refuse. Rather than risk defeat, Arlen cast them both from a precipice, leaving the world without a savior, and opening a struggle for succession that threatens to tear the Free Cities of Thesa apart.
In the south, Inevera, Jardir’s first wife, must find a way to keep their sons from killing each other and plunging their people into civil war as they strive for glory enough to make a claim on the throne.
In the north, Leesha Paper and Rojer Inn struggle to forge an alliance between the duchies of Angiers and Miln against the Krasians before it is too late.
Caught in the crossfire is the duchy of Lakton—rich and unprotected, ripe for conquest.
All the while, the corelings have been growing stronger, and without Arlen and Jardir there may be none strong enough to stop them. Only Renna Bales may know more about the fate of the missing men, but she, too, has disappeared.

In uncountable years of service to the Allfather Odin, Ludvig “Vig” Rundstrom has never seen anyone kick ass with quite as much style as Kera. He knows one way to save her life—but she might not like it. Signing up with the Crows will get Kera a new set of battle buddies: cackling, gossiping, squabbling, party-hearty women. With wings. So not the Marines.
But Vig can’t give up on someone as special as Kera. With a storm of oh-crap magic speeding straight for L.A., survival will depend on combining their strengths: Kera’s discipline, Vig’s loyalty… and the Crows’ sheer love of battle. Boy, are they in trouble.

As Amy learns the truth about her mission, she realizes that she’s only just scratched the surface of Oz’s past—and that Kansas, the home she couldn't wait to leave behind, may also be in danger. Twist (Loop, #2) by Karen Akins

Twist (Loop, #2)The unbelievably thrilling sequel to the time-travel YA novel Loop.
Bree Bennis finally has it all—a non-comatose mother, an uber-hot (albeit anachronistic) boyfriend named Finn, and a new-found mission to protect the timeline from those who would skew it for their own gain. But when she leans over one day to smooch said boyfriend, her lips meet those of her arch-nemesis Wyck instead. The timeline has been altered, and Bree is caught in the crosshairs. But when she goes back to repair the damage, she is stopped by none other than her Future Self, who delivers an urgent message: Someone is kidnapping Shifters from the distant past. It’s up to Bree to stop them. But first, she has to figure out who... and why.
To follow the trail of chronocrumbs, Bree reluctantly accepts her new undercover gig as Wyck’s girlfriend. Everything goes spiffy until Finn shows up in the 23rd century on the eager arm of a gorgeous fellow Shifter, Blark. Even as Bree struggles with jealousy, she battles the nagging dread that Finn might be better off with someone less chronologically complicated. Her worst fear is confirmed when Finn becomes the kidnapper’s next victim. As Bree zeroes in on the culprit, they unravel her life one timeline-change at a time. She realizes that she alone has the power to save herself and everyone she loves. But to do that, she may lose Finn forever.

The Midnight Witch by Paula Brackston

The Midnight Witch"The dead are seldom silent. All that is required for them to be heard is that someone be willing to listen. I have been listening to the dead all my life."
Lilith is the daughter of the sixth Duke of Radnor. She is one of the most beautiful young women in London and engaged to the city’s most eligible bachelor. She is also a witch.
When her father dies, her hapless brother Freddie takes the title. But it is Lilith, instructed in the art of necromancy, who inherits their father’s role as Head Witch of the Lazarus Coven. And it is Lilith who must face the threat of the Sentinels, a powerful group of sorcerers intent on reclaiming the Elixir from the coven’s guardianship for their own dark purposes. Lilith knows the Lazarus creed: secrecy and silence. To abandon either would put both the coven and all she holds dear in grave danger. She has spent her life honoring it, right down to her charming fiancé and fellow witch, Viscount Louis Harcourt.
Until the day she meets Bram, a talented artist who is neither a witch nor a member of her class. With him, she must not be secret and silent. Despite her loyalty to the coven and duty to her family, Lilith cannot keep her life as a witch hidden from the man she loves.
To tell him will risk everything.
Spanning the opulence of Edwardian London and the dark days of World War I, The Midnight Witch is the third novel from New York Times bestselling author Paula Brackston.

The Moon Tells Secrets by Savanna Welles

The Moon Tells Secrets"Don't trust nobody. Not family. Not friend. Don't let it get him like it got my son, not until he is ready to meet it. And remember that blood must pay for blood. A debt must be paid. Your boy can never forget. That is his destiny."
Raine is at her wits' end. Her eleven-year-old son, Davey, whom she has raised by herself, has the power to shapeshift into any animal—a "gift" from his dead father. As Raine struggles to control his abilities that are so clearly out of her realm, a darker threat moves closer—a skinwalker bent on killing Raine and Davey. But even if the skinwalker doesn't succeed, someone closer to Raine will become just as vicious…
Cade, still grieving the brutal murder of his wife, finds solace in Raine's companionship. But as the savage details of her death mirror the powers Davey is soon to have, Raine will have to fight to protect her son.

Mini Leather Journal Bracelet - Statement Jewelry - Handmade Mini Book Jewelry

$200.00 (plus S&H)

Mini Leather Journal Bracelet, Statement Jewelry

Have a serious book lover or writer in your life? Do you love fun and funky statement jewelry? If so, then this bracelet is for you!

This bracelet is created using 38 of my earring sized mini journals. Each journal is handmade by me, measures approximately 12mm x 15mm and contains 48 pages of 67lb paper divided into four sections. Each section has been sewn directly to the cover using strong linen thread.

The journals are attached to a chain. There is a smaller chain attached to the main chain (as shown in the second picture) which allows this bracelet to be adjusted to fit a wide variety of wrists. It can be adjusted to 7.5 - 9.5 inches in length and is meant to hang loosely around the wrist so the books are free to move as you move. The bracelet uses a lobster clasp closure.

This is a fun piece of jewelry and a great conversation starter. It will definitely make people look twice (in a good way, of course!).

But India has more than just tea on offer. Rue stumbles upon a plot involving local dissidents, a kidnapped brigadier's wife, and some awfully familiar Scottish werewolves. And he has a job for her. In between stolen kisses, Pyper will need to help him solve a ninety-year old murder if she wants to free him from an ancient curse…and maybe finally get that date he keeps promising her.

The Darkling Lord (Court of Annwyn, #4) by Shona Husk

The Darkling Lord (Court of Annwyn, #4)A darkling with a lust for power…

Yet he is bound by the laws of both worlds. With a new King on the throne of Annwyn and the mortal world trying to rebuild after plagues killed so many, Henry seizes the opportunity to carve out a place of his own. He wants Detroit.
A spy without a soul…
Darah was Felan’s spy before he became King of Annwyn. Now he has one last mission for her. He wants her to join the darkling’s Court and discover what Henry’s endgame is. No one trusts the Banished when they gather in great numbers. As Darah gets drawn into Henry’s world she realizes he can give her the one thing she could never find in Annwyn—love. But is love worth betraying her King?

The Scent (Bryn and Sinjin, #2) by H.P. Mallory

The Scent (Bryn and Sinjin #2)When Bryn’s loyalty to her own people is tested, the decision she makes will change the course of her life forever…
Truth be told, Bryn isn’t really sure where her loyalties lie. Of one thing she’s sure, though, is that her fraternal twin sister, Jolie, who also happens to be the Queen of the Underworld, should be her sworn enemy. But after spending months with Jolie, Bryn can’t deny the fact that she genuinely cares for her sister, much though she shouldn’t. If it weren’t maddening enough that her relationship with Jolie is anything but black and white, then there’s Sinjin.
Cool, calm and calculated, Sinjin Sinclair is everything Bryn imagines she should find reprehensible in a man. First of all, he’s a master vampire and all vampires, in Bryn’s mind, are nothing more than bloodsucking parasites. Secondly, his unflagging cockiness when paired with his boyish charm is enough to irritate any sensible woman. Mostly, though, it’s Sinjin’s unapologetic sexuality that Bryn finds extremely off-putting…and, well, somewhat entertaining and possibly even exhilarating.
After Bryn purposely botches her leader’s attack on Jolie, Bryn finds herself returned to her old life, a life she thought she’d wanted. But the old adage, “be careful what you wish for because you might get it,” will take on new meaning once she finds herself playing hostage to her own people.

The Witch of Painted Sorrows by M.J. Rose

The Witch of Painted SorrowsPossession. Power. Passion. New York Times bestselling novelist M. J. Rose creates her most provocative and magical spellbinder yet in this gothic novel set against the lavish spectacle of 1890s Belle Époque Paris.
Sandrine Salome flees New York for her grandmother’s Paris mansion to escape her dangerous husband, but what she finds there is even more menacing. The house, famous for its lavish art collection and elegant salons, is mysteriously closed up. Although her grandmother insists it’s dangerous for Sandrine to visit, she defies her and meets Julien Duplessi, a mesmerizing young architect. Together they explore the hidden night world of Paris, the forbidden occult underground and Sandrine’s deepest desires.
Among the bohemians and the demi-monde, Sandrine discovers her erotic nature as a lover and painter. Then darker influences threaten—her cold and cruel husband is tracking her down and something sinister is taking hold, changing Sandrine, altering her. She’s become possessed by La Lune: A witch, a legend, and a sixteenth-century courtesan, who opens up her life to a darkness that may become a gift or a curse.
This is Sandrine’s “wild night of the soul,” her odyssey in the magnificent city of Paris, of art, love, and witchery.
