Book Review: "Medusa, A Love Story" by Sasha Summers

Medusa, A Love Story
(Loves of Olympus Series, Bk #1)
By Sasha Summers

Synopsis:
It's said love can change a person. Medusa wasn't always a monster...

Medusa is ruled by duty, to her Titan father and the Goddess Athena. She's no room for the tenderness her warrior guard, Ariston, stirs. When Olympus frees her from service, her heart leads her into the arms of the guard she loves... and curses her as the creature with serpent locks.

Ariston goes to war with a full heart... and dreadful foreboding. He learns too late of the danger Medusa faces, alone, and a Persian blade sends him into the Underworld. But death, curses, nor the wrath of the Gods will keep him from returning to her.

Poseidon will use Greece's war to get what he wants: Medusa. He does not care that she belongs to another. He does not care that she will be damned. He is a God, an Olympian, and she will be his.

Viviana's Review:
An interesting and intriguing twist to the myth of Medusa we all know. We've read the Greek Myths in school and we've seen enough movies regarding the Greek Gods and their story to know of the  'evil', 'man hating', 'monster with snakes on her head' Medusa. Like the first line of the synopsis said "Medusa wasn't always a monster". Imagine the possibility of Medusa being a kind, loving and duty bound Priestess of Athena. She has friends and a family. She has hopes and dreams. She is loyal and takes her vows to Athena seriously. Yet there is a Soldier who's smile makes her heart flutter. Their love cannot be for both have taken an oath. This is the story of a woman, who loved with all her heart, the man that loved her and risked it all and the jealous Gods and Goddess who would see it they would not be together.

Sasha is a wonderful story teller. Her writing style is smooth and inviting. She lures you into the story, causing you to forget your surroundings. You will not want to put this book down. Each character has their own unique voice and characteristics. The scenery is beautifully described in a manner that is not overly done yet, you can actual hear the ocean as Medusa and Ariston walk on the beach.

This is a Paranormal Romance yet, as we all know what happened to Medusa, I'm sure you're worried about how her story is going to end and how is it possible to have a "happily ever after". I can assure you, you're in great hands when reading a book by Sasha Summers.

Make sure to have a box of tissues near by. I'm not a crier at all when I read. However, there was a scene that truly tugged at my emotions and a tear streamed down my face and my heart just sank. "Medusa, A Love Story" is a wonderful story filled with action, wonderful and loving characters and truly a beautiful love story.

Rating: 5 Stars - Perfection
