Medusa's Birthday Bash Blog Tour: Ariston Interview

Welcome to Viviana, Enchantress of Books Ariston. We are extremely grateful to Hades for allowing you to travel to meet with us today.  Please have a seat. May I offer you anything to eat or drink before we begin?

I thank you, no.

When we first meet you, you are already in love with Medusa. Tell us about the first time you saw her?

The first time I saw her, I’d been summoned to Councilman Galenus’ home. I was none too pleased to have been assigned her escort. My training made me more valuable on the battlefront, but I knew of the Persian plot to rouse Athens’ citizens into action. And while they are barbarians, kidnapping Athen’s priestess-chosen by the Goddess Athena herself- ‘twas a good ploy.

Seeing her, those eyes watching me over her veils (he shakes his head) - I would not leave her unprotected. And for that, being chosen to protect her, I thank Athena.

I want to be fast. Not like running fast but like writing fast.

I know writers who write 5000, even 10,000 words a day. They can write an entire book in less than a month! I have no idea how they do this, but I ask them every chance I get.

Spotlight Tour: Her Warriors’ Three Wishes by Carrie Ann Ryan

Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?

Viviana's Review:
This was my first introduction to the VV Inn series though I have them on my TBR List (and sitting on my book shelf), but I have read C.J.'s other book "Vanilla on Top" (review here).

"Death's Servant" is a prequel to the VV Inn series, so it’s definitely a good place to start if you haven’t yet read the series. C.J. Ellisson wrote this prequel at the request of her fans and she does not disappoint. I love it when authors are involved with their fans and truly take to heart what fans like/love.

Guest Post: Touched by A.J. Aalto

I Suck at Romance (And My Husband Sucks At Science)
I write paranormal mysteries loaded with oodles of snark for a reason. If I ever decide to write a romance novel, someone remind me not to write a romance novel. I am woefully ill-equipped.
Let me take you back seventeen looooooong years. I met my husband, the Viking, in some biology class or other, though which type of biology it was escapes me now (It couldn’t have been bio-ethics, because I have no ethics and figured that course would be a waste of my time.). Our romance went like this:
Me: Hey, where the hell have you been?

Through his supernatural Gift, Avant transplants his memories into her, but neither are prepared for how their hearts intertwine.

Excerpt

When Avant climbed back to the cave, his hair was wet. He'd slicked it back from his face and tied it into a little ponytail with a leather string. The sexy shadow of a light beard softened his angular jaw, and the thick waves of his hair shined with chestnut highlights in the morning sun. It was a good look for him, but then again, what wasn’t? Abby ran her fingers through her own tangled tresses and pulled her hair back. What she wouldn't give for a hairclip.

Guest Post: Meet the Bad Boys from Nefertiti's Heart by A.W. Exley

I was torn about what to write for this guest post. I had two choices, either my daily routine as a writer, or sharing the men who occupy space in my head. Guess which won? :)

In Nefertiti's Heart the men are divided into two camps. First there are the good guys. We have Inspector Fraser, on the trail of a serial killer. Sergeant Connor, his muscle on the street. Lord Weaver Clayton, carrying the guilt of what his father did to Cara.

Then, there are the bad boys…

Wine would have been a good idea, Abby thought.

Stretched out on her belly, she closed her eyes and tried to think about anything but the pain. Digging her nails into her palms, she tried to zone out.

This week's question is:
Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate — ? Did you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do that?

Book Review: "Bound" by Elisabeth Naughton

Bound
(Eternal Guardians, Bk #6)
By Elisabeth Naughton

Synopsis:

TITUS—To most his gift seems like a blessing, but for him it’s a curse the other Eternal Guardians—those who protect the mortal realm from threats of the Underworld—seek to exploit. One he would gladly trade for the chance to be free…

Obsessed. Her touch is like a drug. From the moment he met her, Titus knew she was different. Even dangerous. Yet though his guardian brethren are convinced Natasa is working for Hades, Titus can’t stop thinking about her. Can’t stop fantasizing about her. Can’t stop craving the one thing he knows could lead to the downfall of his world.

Possessed. Faced with stopping Natasa or joining in her quest, Titus falls to temptation and is thrust into a world of lust, deception, and deadly treachery designed by the gods. Her touch—only hers—frees him from his bonds, but desire may just condemn him. Because before the end he’ll have to decide which is more important: duty and honor to those he took an oath to defend, or a woman who could very well be the biggest curse to them all.

Available for purchase at

Viviana's Review:
A perfect mixture of action, romance, Greek Mythology, mystery and steaminess! I had missed the world of the Eternal Guardians! The series is like comfort food! You know its going to be great and you love it! I also love that everyone from the previous books all make an appearance, well, not so much as an appearance but rather they are part of the story!

Picture this: you get on a roller coaster thinking it is going to be awesome but that it is only going to last for a little bit, and then it will be over.  Only problem is, you are wrong on both counts…
