Blog Tour: "Vows Series" by Catherine ByBee

Top Ten Reasons NOT to Travel in Time to the Sixteenth Century
by Catherine Bybee

10.)  If a woman gets all snarky with her hubby he has the right to beat her, bind her, and lock her up somewhere. And we’re not talking 50 Shades ladies!

9.)  Bathing was an option for most people. Phew!

8.)  Riding horses might be fun for a while, but hellooooo, no heater or air conditioner and I’m guessing the shocks on any wheeled cart were less than affective.

7.)   Lack of medicine or healthcare. I’m thinking the midwife who hadn't bathed in two weeks might have attributed to the death during childbirth ratio.

6.)  All those skirts and dresses might sound amazing in a book. Reality check, unless you were of the elite you didn't own a wardrobe. And what you owned wasn't washed…it was perfumed to take care of the smell.

5.)  No Tampons! Nuff said.

4.)  Sex = Babies. Yeah, it still does…but the ‘rhythm method’ never worked.

3.)  Most people lived within a short distance to their extended family their entire lives. *shivers*

2.)  There was no mall. Can you imagine?

1.)  And the very last reason why you shouldn't travel in time to the sixteenth century… No toilet. Plumbing is a beautiful thing people. Beautiful.
